Third Annual Chess Tournament Open to Students Aug. 7 at Oak Park Library

    The Third Annual Oak Park Public Library Public Library Chess Tournament for students in grades Kindergarten to 12th grade will be held Saturday, Aug. 7, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Main Library. 834 Lake Street. Pre-registration begins July 24 and is required for all participants. Trophies will be awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners in both K-6 and 7-12 brackets.

    A side tournament will be held for parents, coaches, and adults. No registration is required.  The winner of the side tournament will also receive a trophy. The event is free and open to the public.

    Weekly chess nights continue at the Main Library on Monday evenings from 5:30 to 9 p.m.
