The coming election in Oak Park (April 2009) will have
a president, three trustees, and a village clerk all up for
election.  If a given slate wins, that slate will have total control over local Village government.  If things were
running smoothly in government, the opposition would be less.  That not being the case, multiple groups of  residents
are looking to battle the status quo, and their agents, the Village Manager's Association (VMA).

Word has it (not official release) that the VMA will be having
the current Village President Mr. David Pope as their choice for village president, which they did not do last election, when
Mr. Pope ran as an independent and was endorsed by this
publication.  Mr. John Hedges is also said to be slated by the
current committee.  Ms.
Colette Lueck, also a current Village
Board trustee has been chosen to run on the slate.  A new
comer to the VMA, a Mr. Glenn Brewer is also slated for the
run in the coming election.

Village Trustee Greg Marsey is said to be looking at running for the Village Clerk position, but will not be chosen by the
VMA.

<>It should be an interesting election and will only get more
interesting as times moves on.
