Worms Eat My Garbage

Why would I want worms in my house eating my garbage? It makes my garbage smell less. It’s good for the environment. It’s a great life science experiment for the kids. I like to fish!
Each year I try to change one habit to be more Earth-friendly. Composting with worms at first seemed like a yucky idea . . . but this simple guide presented many variations so I found one that suited my lifestyle and space. Answers to common questions and solutions to common problems are also easy to find in this well indexed and referenced guide.
If you are the scientific type or have school-age children this guide suggests several data-keeping projects you can do as the worms devour your kitchen waste. It suggests beginner and more advanced worm-keeping, perhaps even turning the worms or resulting compost sales into a business. A home start-up would not be expensive, the most costly part being the worms, about $22 on- line. Though you might be able to find someone in your community to share their worms with you for less. Happy composting!
