(Itasca, Ill.) September 9, 2009 — JEWEL-OSCO, a leading Midwest food and drug retailer, recently celebrated the grand reopening of its newly remodeled store in Oak Park with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

During this special occasion at the store, located at 438 W. Madison, JEWEL-OSCO also made a $1,000 donation to the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry, in support of its hunger relief efforts.

We’d like to thank JEWEL-OSCO for this generous donation,” said Kathy Russell, co-operations manager of the Oak Park River Forest Food Pantry. “This donation comes at an important time for the food pantry, because we are stretching our resources due to an 80% increase in clients served from 2008 to 2009.”

The renovated JEWEL-OSCO offers customers a variety of ready-to-go meal solutions and improved department areas, including:

  • Chef’s Kitchen for traditional deli selections

  • Pier 14 seafood department

  • Farmstand for fresh produce

  • Dairy and Frozen product sections

  • Bake Shop

  • JEWEL-OSCO PHARMACY service area

The store also includes an all-new Beer and Wine section.

We invite the community to visit our newly renovated store,” said Jewel Store
Director Jeff Smolinski Sr. “I know customers will enjoy the convenience and full
array of services that are now available.”
