Cue the penguins! Fantasea, Powered by ComEd, begins on Friday, Oct. 16 at Shedd Aquarium. Experience Shedd’s re-imagined Oceanarium during the must-see, unforgettable multi-species aquatic show, FANTASEA. In celebration of the premiere, Community Discount/Free General Admission Week sponsored by Ford Motor Company Fund, a philanthropic arm of Ford Motor Company returns Oct. 16-22 to offer FREE general admission, plus discounted admission to see Fantasea!
Check out the FANTASEA fun at Shedd all week long with special surprises and activities! Beginning Friday, Oct. 16 through Thursday, Oct. 22, Shedd unleashes the FANTASEA with commemorative pins and special opening activities, including family entertainment and exciting surprise giveaways.
There’s so much to see and do in Shedd’s reimagined Oceanarium: from a new, kid-friendly exhibit – Polar Play Zone – to welcoming the new and familiar faces of the Oceanarium marine mammal family. Now, prepare to get swept away in the magic of Shedd’s aquatic show, Fantasea! During this unforgettable journey, dolphins soar, beluga whales dance and penguins parade, transforming the Oceanarium’s marine mammal amphitheater into a magical world of watery wonders!

Join the Creatures That Go Bump in the Night at Shedd’s Annual Halloween Event, Oct. 30
WHAT: Evening/Overnight Event
Hold your blanket tight and grab your pillow because Chicago’s spookiest and strangest creatures of the sea want to celebrate Halloween with you! Explore the nighttime shadows of Shedd and the Aquarium’s mysterious animals after dark during Spooky Seas, an annual family Halloween celebration, on Friday, Oct. 30. Guests get up-close with some of Shedd’s creepiest animals and participate in Halloween-themed educational activities. Dress in your Halloween best and dance the night away with a live DJ, while also enjoying a tasty dinner, breakfast and Halloween treats.
WHEN: Friday, October 30 Evening only: 6 – 10 p.m.
Overnight: 6 p.m. – 9 a.m.
TICKETS: Evening Only Event Fee: $25 per adult or child; $20 for Shedd members. Children ages 2 and under are free.
Overnight Event Fee: $60 per adult or child; $50 for Shedd members. Children must be at least 5 years of age to sleep over and must be accompanied by an adult.
