restaurant was filled with local activists and politicians. The
talk was a simple message, get the vote out for Democrats or be
prepared for things to get much worse. The much worse is
amplified in those areas of largest need, and the Austin area is in
much need. The streets and businesses that appear along Madison
street from Oak Park look vastly improved over the past number of
years. Madison now has a new police station for the 15th
district, some new restaurants, a movie theater, plenty of beauty
salons, a senior housing development, and more coming when times get
better.

addresses the audience with the facts of the coming election.
"People want someone to blame. The ones in power are
targeted whether they are the problem or not." Her comments on Illinois State Senator Brady, who is running on the Republican ticket for Governor of Illinois kept everyone's attention on her words. "Brady has voted against every black initiative. He is not interested in the urban community or the black community. He is as far right as you can go, he pro business, but not small business only big corporations. Pat Quinn is more honest and willing to work with us." MacArthur’s
Restaurant is alive with politics..

the work required in helping all the people and strive to keep things
moving in the right direction. We spoke at length about the
education in the State of Illinois and how funding should be addressed
to stabilize the overall system, and about Senator Brady's well known
comment about cutting some $1,600,000,000.00 from the education budget
for the children in Illinois.
We were very impressed with Senator Lightford's commitment to education for all of the children and her knowledge of the issues at hand. She is unopposed in the coming election and Senator Harmon is not up for election this term, yet both came out and will continue to work hard for the Democratic party and its goals.
