Michael Stenciel, a 30 year old black man from 429 South Wesley Avenue, in Oak Park (one block from Fenwick High School, near Washington Blvd and Wesley) was found shot numerous times and left for dead at 603 North Homan in Chicago (Homan near Ohio, a few blocks north-east of the Garfield Park conservatory). Mr. Stanciel was taken to Todd Stroger Hospital, for treatment at or about 11:00 p.m. on Sunday night, June 13th.
He was pronounced dead at around 11:50 p.m. Chicago police are investigating the homicide and with no one in custody at this time.
Michael Stenciel was only five miles from his home in Oak Park, but in a gang infested portion of the city where crime is an everyday occurance and murder all too common.
