Riveredge Hospital is
proudly hosted an open house for their Geriatric Unit.
On Thursday August 11, 2011 from 3-6pm Riveredge Hospital is proudly hosted an open house for their Geriatric Unit. This specialized unit has been fully renovated to meet the physical and emotional needs of these patients in an aesthetically pleasing environment. Senior patients are benefitting from both traditional talk therapies as well as alternative holistic interventions.
We offer an array of supportive interventions including family support, Animal Assisted, Art, Music and Occupational Therapies. The open house will begin with a presentation by Dr. Dheeraj Mahajan, President of CIMPAR (Chicago Internal Medicine Practice and Research). There will be a ribbon cutting ceremony at 4:30 pm with remarks from Carey Carlock, CEO of Riveredge Hospital and Dr.’s Rad Gharavi and Thodur Ranganathan, Clinical Directors of Adult Services at Riveredge Hospital. Tours of the unit, refreshments and hors d’oeurves will be provided while enjoying the talent of Ida Gannon, the cellist who plays for the Geriatric patients weekly.

Riveredge Hospital Recognizes Community Partners at Wellness Fair Celebrating Mental Health Awareness Month
In honor of May as Mental Health Awareness Month, Riveredge Hospital will host its 2nd Annual Wellness Fair. The Wellness Fair is designed to recognize community partners and offer them the opportunity to network, learn and share resources with other care providers. Additionally, the all-day event will promote mental health awareness, self-care and overall community wellness with booths, presentations, and interactive activities such as massages and yoga sessions. CEU opportunities available. This is a free event.
